Battalion S-3: Operations

c/CPT Dinh, Tina

Heyyia:T, this is your Battalion S3; Operations Officer for the SY of 23/24. I also go by "Tina", which is more simple to pronounce than my actual name. As the S3, my job is to coordinate for battalion training & operations. Theoretically, I'm in charge of keeping records of information from every SY event and closely collaborating with the Chief on planning!! [I hope whoever reads this will have a wonderful day/time! :]

Aside from JROTC, I am a member of the Kearny Girls Varsity Tennis Team. I really enjoyed this sport so much more than I could've thought of myself ever playing it. My favorite book genres are; Fantasy, Thriller, and Romance. I usually read books/novels on my Kindle and just immerse myself in them completely while daydreaming or zoning out. Besides that, I'm just an ordinary living person who has survived in this world to the present day. Sometimes, I may appear serious but my brain is actually partying elsewhere.

**Please note that; this is a student-led program and that the staff members are still students. There certainly will be flaws made by various parties, but please don't hesitate to inform us about them. We are doing everything we can to ensure that this program's legacy lives on and that the alumni who have proudly dedicated themselves to it be remembered.**

JROTC Career

This is now my third year being enrolled in JROTC (LET-3), I am now the Battalion S3; Operations Officer of the Kearny JROTC Program. This was not something I expected to be a part of:)! Nonetheless, I am grateful for all of my progress, which has been acknowledged by the SAIs/AIs and other team members. JROTC, this program, has been a significant part of my life as I advanced into more academic/career opportunities, and it is always something I would like to fully experience again if I could travel back in time. [P.S. It would be wonderful to experience the different teams that the program has to offer, so you should absolutely check those out as well]

As someone who has been a part of the program since my Freshman year, I am aware that it will take some time getting used to since this isn't something you're likely familiar with. Nevertheless, I hope that newcomers wouldn't want to miss the opportunities to try out new things; such as joining the Staffs or the Teams if that is something you're interested in. So! Take full advantage of opportunities as they arise or while you are still here, and enjoy them. Therefore, don't be afraid about reaching out and joining us; after all, everyone has to begin somewhere.

Academics

Initially, I began like everyone else who had enrolled in Kearny High; I chose the pathway of the small school of Biomedical Science & Technology (BST) for myself. This year marks my third year as a Junior at Kearny High School after that period of time has passed. Honestly, I would say that high school life is difficult regardless of grade level, but it can also be rather amusing if you know how to balance it off with your lifestyles. Currently, I am enrolled in the Mesa College Fast Track Program, which allows students to take college classes while still in high school. In addition, I had been on the honor roll since freshman year until present. [Honor roll - fun little time when you can receive free ice cream, maybe two?... after working hard:0]
